Are you looking for a working holiday with a difference? Would you like to volunteer your energy and skills to help us develop our project? Our 2012 volunteer programme was a huge success and we are now recruiting for 2013. This year we are seeking volunteers for an initial period of 1 week.
During this first week, depending on workload and number of guests we can sometimes offer a further 1-2 weeks but rarely more than 3 in total. It allows us to offer opportunities to other volunteers. In exchange for your help and company, we'll provide three meals a day plus drinks (non-alcoholic - we leave you to buy your own alcohol) that you'll eat with us and any other guests who wish to join us. If you can bring your own tent and sleeping bags that would be great but if you don't have one we'll try to provide one. We'll also provide pillows and sleeping matts - if you're lucky you might even get a mattress!
We ask that you help us for 5 days in every 7 and we encourage you to explore Montenegro on your days off. It's beautiful. Kotor, Herceg Novi, the Lustica peninsula, hikes in the mountains, beaches and kayaking in the bay are all easily reached from Camp Full Monte. The day normally starts around 7.30 and can continue until after evening meal has been cleared but it's not full on work for the whole of that period. It can be physically demanding nonetheless. You may be helping us to run the site (cleaning, washing up, cooking, putting up tents), maintaining the gardens and grounds (strimming, mowing, watering our organic vegetable and flower gardens) or helping with major and minor projects (collecting rocks and building dry stone walls, tiling, painting, maintaining our systems and facilities). Our friendly dog, Daisy, is also happy to show you around the surrounding countryside if you want to walk her.
Above all you'll be helping us to provide a warm and welcoming atmosphere for our guests but respecting their space and privacy when necessary. We like to engender a community atmosphere on site and we see you playing a key part in that.
We prefer to talk to volunteers (via Skype) before you start your travels to answer any questions and confirm your place with us. We understand that this can be difficult if you are already on the road so drop us a line via e-mail but please don't just turn up without prior warning.
